The first issue of Journal "Oncohematology" was published in 2006. The Journal was established as oncohematology, being a part both of oncology and hematology, advances very fast now. There are a lot of monthly issues publishing the results of new original research and concepts created on their basis, several conferences, congresses and symposiums are held every year to discuss the most important problems of oncohematology. These data are not always available to Russian hematologists at large, as existing Russian journals, discussing the hematological problems, can’t cover the whole mass of important new data.  Chief Editor was professor M.A. Volkova and Deputy Chief Editor was professor E.A. Osmanov at that time.

The idea to compensate the lack of information in the field of oncohematology ‒ fundamental subdiscipline of malignancy science was perfectly turned into reality. The Journal actualized itself and found its readers, it makes part of the list of the leading peer reviewed journals of Higher Attestation Commission.
