Anton V. Snegovoy, b. 1976, Doctor of Medical Science, head of the Department of Outpatient Chemotherapy (day patient facility) at the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology, Ministry of Health of Russia
Anton V. Snegovoy, b. 1976, has graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Perm State Medical Academy named after E.A. Wagner in 1999.
From 1999 to 2000, he was a clinical intern specializing in surgery at the Department of General Surgery of the Perm State Medical Academy named after E.A. Wagner.
From 2000 to 2002, he was in the clinical residence program specializing in oncology at the Kursk State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
From 2002 to 2004, he was in an oncology PhD program at the N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. In 2004, he defended a PhD thesis “Early enteric tube feeding in patients with stomach cancer after surgery” for a degree in oncology (classification 14.00.14) and anesthesiology and critical care (14.00.37) at the N.N. Blokhin Russian Cancer Research Center.
From 2006 to April of 2017, Dr. Snegovoy was a senior research associate at the Department of Outpatient Chemotherapy (day inpatient facility) of the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology. Currently he is the head of this department.
The main focus of Dr. Snegovoy’s research is development and examination of the effectiveness of new antitumor drugs (cytostatic agents, targeted, and immunotherapeutic drugs) with different mechanisms of action in context of personalized supportive therapy regiments.
Dr. Snegovoy, as a head researcher, participates in international clinical trials for new drugs and treatment regiments for breast and digestive tract cancers. In the context of supportive therapy, he studies new predictors for complications of drug treatment.
He is a member of the Russian Society of Clinical Oncology (RUSSCO), the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC).
From 2013 to 2016, Dr. Snegovoy was the head of the task team on supportive therapy of RUSSCO working on development of recommendations for supportive care in antitumor drug treatment. From 2015 to 2017, he was a national representative in the task team on supportive care of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), member of the editorial board of a professional website «Quality of Life in Oncology». In 2013-2016, he was the head of the educational cycle for oncologists “Supportive care in Oncology” of the Russian Society of Clinical Oncology (RUSSCO) which was attended by 480 oncologists. Since 2017, Dr. Snegovoy is the chairman of the executive board of the regional public organization “Society of specialists in supportive care in oncology.”
In 2017, Dr. Snegovoy defended a Doctor of Medical Science dissertation “Rational strategy of supportive care in antitumor drug treatment” under supervision of an Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Mikhail Ivanovich Davydov (classification 14.00.14 – oncology). While working on the dissertation, Dr. Snegovoy has developed online applications for personalized treatment of chemotherapy-induced anemia, prevention of febrile neutropenia, and prescription of bone-modifying therapy for bone metastases. He has published 19 practical guidelines on correction of various complications in oncological patients.
Dr. Snegovoy has 87 scientific publications. In the last 5 years, he has published 44 articles.
