Galina D. Petrova

In 2009, Dr. Petrova graduated with honors from the Yaroslavl State Medical Academy (now Yaroslavl State Medical University). From 2009 to 2011, Dr. Petrova studied at clinical residence program at the Hemoblastosis Chemotherapy Department at the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology, Ministry of Health of Russia. Since 2011, she studied at the oncology PhD program at the Department of Bone Marrow Transplantation at the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology. In 2012, Dr. Petrova underwent training at the Department of Bone Marrow Transplantation at the R.M. Gorbacheva Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Transplantology (under supervision of B.V. Afanasiev) in Saint Petersburg, Russia. In 2016, she successfully defended her PhD thesis “One-time and dual transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells in refractory and recurrent Hodgkin’s lymphoma.” In 2017, Dr. Petrova trained at the Department of Bone Marrow Transplantation and Cell Therapy (under supervision of Dr. Richard Champlin) at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Texas State University, Houston, USA. In 2018, she trained at the Clinic of University Hospital of Cologne, Germany (under supervision of Dr. С. Scheid). Dr. Petrova is proficient in all current methods of autologous and allogenic stem cell preparation as well as regimens of high-dose chemotherapy of varying intensity and accompanying therapy. She has authored more than 20 articles including publications approved by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation. She has participated and presented at multiple Russian and international scientific and practical conferences.

 

Experience

In 2014–2018: researcher at the Department of Bone Marrow Transplantation at the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology, Ministry of Health of Russia. Since 2018: acting head of the Department of Bone Marrow Transplantation at the Hematology and Bone Marrow Transplantation Division of the N.N. Blokhin National Medical Research Center of Oncology, Ministry of Health of Russia.

Scientific publications

Dr. Petrova has authored more than 20 publications, both in Russian and English, predominantly dedicated to bone marrow transplantation.

Scientific research

Autologous and allogenic bone marrow transplantation from fully compatible and alternative donors in patients with solid diseases and malignant diseases of hemopoietic and lymphoid tissue. Use of total therapeutic irradiation in patients with lymphomas, leukoses and plasma cell tumors with unfavorable prognosis.
